Lady Gaga performed her new single “Alejandro” on American Idol last night in a custom Armani silk mesh bodysuit with embroidered Chantilly lace and crystal beading paired with a matching hooded cape (which she removed mid-performance) and stiletto boots. “I have let my imagination run free, and the outfit I have created for her for American Idol is pure fantasy,” said Armani.
Gaga, who began collaborating with the designer at the Grammy Awards in January, also wore a glittering Armani bodysuit for her performance at the Met Gala earlier this week. “American Idol is a real modern phenomenon that has captured the public’s imagination and delivers great drama,” said Armani. “It is fitting then that the show is to host another modern phenomenon…whose every appearance is a piece of theater.” Check out Lady Gaga’s Idol performance after the jump!
